Cancer Research’s Race for Life events are the UK’s biggest fight against cancer and the largest woman only fundraising event. Over 230 events have been held at various outdoor venues across the UK. Each race sees women of all ages come together, dressed in pink, to run, jog or walk 5k or 10k distances in celebration of having survived, in memory of a loved one lost or in the hope of a cancer free future. Since it began in 1994 6million ladies have taken part in a Race for Life event raising over £493 million in the fight against all 200 different types of cancer.
Fourteen ladies from Unicom took part in total, all successfully crossing the finish line, amongst those who took part was Customer Relations Director, Janette Palmer, commenting “Our group of girls and their supporters really stepped up, raising a fantastic amount of money for an extremely important cause – a wonderful time was had by everyone on the day and I’m sure we’ll all be doing it again next year!”.
