Mobile - Setting up Data and MMS settings on Android

In order for your Android phone to access both the mobile internet and be able to send MMS picture messages you will need to enter the following two settings. Unfortunately we are unable to send these settings over the air and they will have to be manually entered.

The following instructions are for version 2 (AKA Gingerbread) of Android.

  • Click Menu (usually a button on your phone)
  • Click Settings
  • Click Wireless & networks, scroll down the menu
  • Click Mobile networks
  • Click Access Point Names
  • Delete any existing settings by clicking on the setting to open it, then press Menu -> Delete APN

2. Add Unicom Data APN

  • Enter the following settings for data access:

  • Once the settings have been entered press Menu -> Save
  • Ensure the settings have been selected by pressing the white circle
